Our Vision and Values
Balmedie school aspires to be a happy, nurturing and welcoming environment. We aim to ensure that children have a voice and can foster a love of learning through high quality learning opportunities and experiences (including within our unique outdoor and local area).
In partnership with parents, carers (and our wider school community) we encourage children to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they will need to succeed in the modern world.
Our Curriculum Rationale
A curriculum rationale explains the thinking behind the design and structure of a school’s curriculum. Its purpose is to clearly outline the educational vision, values, and principles that guide what is taught and how learning experiences are organised. It demonstrates how the curriculum meets national or local requirements, supports learners’ needs, and reflects the school’s ethos and context. By providing this justification, the rationale helps staff, parents, and stakeholders understand the intent of the curriculum and ensures consistency and coherence in teaching and learning.
